Threaded lids using PVC fittings

The best ideas seem obvious when you discover them—but they’re never obvious. Woodworkers have been struggling to put threads on their pieces for as long as threads existed. There are many methods of doing so, but most of them are too complicated and/or too expensive to make it worth it. Darryl Jones’s technique is neither complex nor expensive, and if you’re like me will elicit a head slap or two. Need threads for a container or more importantly, an urn? Buy threads at your local hardware store and put them on your project.

Also, make sure to follow Darryl on Instagram. He’s been building out a new stand-alone shop and I’m having a blast following along!
